Johnson Brothers, a leading distributor of wine, beer and spirits, announces the expansion of its partnership with Copper Cane Wines & Provisions. Starting July 1, Johnson Brothers will be the sole distributor of Copper Cane’s portfolio in Minnesota.

The expanded partnership marks Johnson Brothers’ third market with Copper Cane, in addition to Iowa and West Virginia. Copper Cane is one of the fastest growing fine wine suppliers both nationally and in Minnesota. Founded in 2014 by Winemaker Joe Wagner, Copper Cane’s portfolio includes Boën, Belle Glos, Quilt and Elouan. The company has maintained a strong focus on quality and innovation across their brands.

This week, Johnson Brothers welcomed more than 27 interns to its 2022 Summer Program! Students joined a variety of divisions across Johnson Brothers including Sales, Accounting, IT, Category Management, Graphic Arts, Trade Development, and Purchasing. On kick-off day, the Interns heard from various staff, including Co-Owners Michael and Todd Johnson, toured facilities and attended reception events with leadership.

Johnson Brothers, a leading distributor of wine, beer and spirits, has announced the appointment of John Dempsey as General Manager, Johnson Brothers Service Distributing of Virginia, effective June 1, 2022.

Johnson Brothers acquired Service Distributing, Inc. in April 2022. Dempsey will play a pivotal role in carrying on Service Distributing’s more than 60-year history in northern Virginia, providing a strong family culture for team members and ensuring outstanding service to customers and supplier partners.

“John brings tremendous leadership and experience,” said Michael Johnson, Chairman of Johnson Brothers. “Over the past decade in Nevada, John has successfully grown our business there, and we are excited to have him now further advance our newest business and team in Virginia.”

Dempsey joined Johnson Brothers in 2001 and has held a number of key leadership roles across the commercial organizations in both Nevada and Hawaii. For the past four years he has served as General Manager, Johnson Brothers of Nevada.

“Service Distributing has built a strong and impressive family culture and today still lives up to their name by servicing and putting the customer first,” said Dempsey. “I am excited to build on this strong foundation and continue to grow our people and business in Virginia.”

Prior to joining Johnson Brothers, Dempsey began his career with the E. & J. Gallo Winery in California.
